Tick expert Kateryn Rochon talks about Lyme disease

Lyme disease is caused by an infection with a micro-organism called Borrelia burgdorferi. This bacterium is transmitted by a bite from the wood tick, a tiny blood-sucking parasite. Usually, the tick must be attached for at least 24 hours before the bacteria are spread.
