One spoon will be for your shower, two spoons will be for walking your dog, another spoon will be for brushing your hair and teeth, and... you're already out of spoons! (The spoon theory uses a metaphor of spoons to turn energy into a measurable concept. A person living with CFS only has a certain number of spoons in their possession each day, and every small action a person takes can result in a lost spoon. A CFS patient who runs out of spoons loses the ability to do anything other than rest).
